Background and Advanced Driver Training - with a difference!

Driverevolution is owned and run by Chris Wigley, a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Tutor and holder of the coveted RoSPA Gold Advanced Driving Certificate. Chris has 22 years experience in the Driver Training Industry. Over that period Chris started and developed his own Driving School in Ledbury, Herefordshire, where he ran 5 training vehicles. Apart from training Learner Drivers, Chris trained Instructors to teach Driving and also many private and corporate clients for the Advanced Driving Test. He also trained foreign drivers, who were working in the UK, about our roads, safety and the signage. Chris holds a RoSPA Advanced Driving 'Gold' Certificate, the highest award RoSPA issue.

Why Training "with a difference"? -

After developing the Business between 1989 and 2000, in year 2000 Chris was appoached by a National Company based in Norfolk, and was offered a contract to take on the role of National Accounts and Business Development Manager. He accepted the challenge and sold the Driving School. During the next four years he travelled around the UK, covering some 200,000 miles, and learned just how demanding and stressful Driving in a Sales environment can be. He had clearly seen life from both sides of the fence, as a Driving Trainer and as a Senior Sales Person, presenting to Multi National Companies such as Argos, Boots, Toys R Us, Jessops, Dixons, Woolworths etc, under all the pressures that natually go with that role. It was then that he came up with the concept of Driverevolution and the benefits that could be reaped by truly understanding the client's needs, as well as those of Companies and the duty of care they must now provide for their Company Car Drivers.

So, the differences are purely those of 'understanding', having been there himself. There are few, if any, Driver Trainers who can have this empathy with the client. Driverevolution was created in 2005 and since then has had numerous satisfied clients. His assessment and teaching style is very relaxed and friendly. Chris comes to any location to meet his clients. Using their own private or Company Vehicles, so that they are being assessed and tutored in the vehicle they are familiar with.

All Companies now have a duty of care to manage the ongoing safety of their Company and Fleet Drivers. Company Drivers' cars are their 'work station', and measures must be taken to provide assessment of risk, and further driving advice and education, to staff in possession of Company Vehicles. Full day courses provide comprehensive assessments and time for an introducion to Advanced Driving Techniques. All course materials, including training DVD's, manuals and other materials, are provided in advance of the course date, direct to the participants. The participants are met anywhere in the UK, at a location to suit them. Full written reports are produced and sent directly to your HR or H&S Depts, with copies to the individual drivers. These reports clearly show initial risk assessment, progress on the day, advice going forward, and a final risk assessment post training.
